Flowers are finally blooming in New York. My NY family and friends gathered for Easter Sunday. Most of us aren’t very religious, but it was great reason to celebrate Spring.
The lamb was the main dish. Instead of lamb meat, I used turkey to create the animal sitting on a plate. Pale tone meatballs worked as fluffy wool, and I added black sesame to the face and legs. I was picturing a black sheep that might have white hair and black body, and so as black lamb, but when I looked it up online, black lambs have black hair and black bodies. …Now I know.
Isabel brought some of her Easter treats, and we had a variety of spring-themed tapas. Our guests were busy eating butterfly-shaped chips, and were surrounded by flowers in our purple living room. Someone said, “How did this room get so girlie!” Yes, a spring theme is very girlie looking.
Menu:
Turkey meatball “lamb” on a field of string beans
.
Cream puff bird
Strawberry tart
Chocolate truffle cake

Actually, the black lamb looks weird…but I guess not many lambs are walking around in Brooklyn. It looks really tasty, too….I like it!
